Research Fellow at The George Institute for Global Health — building digital interventions that help people live healthier lives.
I'm a digital health researcher and software engineer based in Sydney, Australia. Originally from Sri Lanka, I hold a PhD from UNSW Sydney, where my research focused on designing and evaluating a digital behaviour change intervention to prevent fall-related injuries in infants — translating evidence-based safety guidance into a scalable, theory-informed mobile solution for parents.
My work sits at the intersection of software engineering and public health, designing Digital Behaviour Change Interventions (DBCIs) that are evidence-based and human-centred. Currently, I'm exploring how artificial intelligence can be harnessed to drive population-level health outcomes — from AI-driven population data analysis to personalised interventions. Away from the screen and the lab, you'll find me on the cricket pitch or immersed in the latest video games.
